The threat of a miniature blizzard isn't enough to put us hardy Glaswegian's off celebrating another country's patron saint.

Any reason for a drink eh?

As St. Patrick's day has fallen on a Saturday this year, we expect the pubs, festivals and other events to be even busier than usual.

Here's a run through of the top things you can do in Glasgow to celebrate today, whether you're Irish or not.

George Donaldson St. Patrick's Weekend Celebrations at Jinty McGuintys

This free event is running all weekend at the famous Irish west end pub. With a host of live music, rugby and Irish activities to get you in the St. Paddy's spirit.

Guest can expect to see face painters, an outdoor Guinness bar, a Guinness photo booth, fresh Shamrock from Co Kerry, fresh Local Oysters and giveaways.

Music will begin from 7pm after the rugby and continue right through till 1am before starting again on the Sunday at 5pm.

Glasgow St. Patrick's Festival Family Fun Day at Merchant Square

Another free event for all the family to take part in. Running form 12pm until 5pm, the festival, in conjunction with Tourism Ireland, will see live bands, dancing, stalls and activities for kids and adults.

St. Patrick’s Day Pogues Fest at O2 ABC

This event invites Glaswegian's to sing along with the world's top Pogues tribute band.

The Pogue Traders will be performing at the famous music venue from 7pm this evening and tickets only cost £17.45.

Revellers can expect to hear old classics aswell as a whole host of Irish rock and roll hits that influenced the band's music.

St. Patrick's Day Lane Party at Malone's Irish Bar

A favourite among Glaswegian's, Malone's bar paints the city green each year with a lane party full of entertainment, drinks and live music.

This year's lane party promises to be the best one yet with increased shelter, heating (very much needed in this weather), space, seating and most importantly a larger bar area.

Guests can purchase beverages up until midnight from the dedicated Guiness bar, mulled cider and spirits bar or grab some grub at the barbeque.

Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased on the door from 11am.

St. Patrick's Day Burger at Hard Rock Cafe

If it's not all about the drinks for you then why not head to Hard Rock Cafe and grab a Guiness burger instead. The popular venue's bacon cheeseburger is being topped with Jameson bacon jam and Guinness cheese sauce. What could be more Irish than that? This delicious combo is only available until Sunday.
