MORNING rush-hour commuters were facing delays on Monday morning due to debris - including wood and broken glass - spread out along the M8.

Trunk road traffic service Traffic Scotland raised the alarm early on Monday morning.

The team said: “Reports of broken glass eastbound at junction 27. Arkleston traffic slow from junction 29 at St James.

“Also reports of wood westbound at junction 26 at Hillington and routine congestion westbound from junction 12 at Riddrie to junction 16 at Craighall.”

The M80 southbound from junction 4 at Mollinsburn to junction 3 at Hornshill also saw traffic affected.

Traffic Scotland added: “Carriageway partially blocked due to debris from a road traffic crash on the hard shoulder. Traffic slow in the area.”
