A GLASGOW care worker is set to face the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) after being convicted of fraud.
Sheila Thomson was convicted at Glasgow Sheriff Court on July 31, 2017.
It was alleged that she obtained money while acting as an agent of Provident Personal Credit Ltd while working as a care assistant at Broomfield Court in Barmulloch.
The court heard at the time how she repeatedly prepared and submitted applications for loans to the company from made-up customers.
Overall, she sum of money she fraudulently obtained was £5,400.
Now, the SSSC - which is responsible for registering people who work in social services and regulating their education and training - has called into question Thomason’s fitness to practice because of her conviction.
Set to face the Fitness-to-Practice panel, the panel will decide if the allegation is proved, whether the worker is fit to practice and whether a sanction should be placed on their registration.
She will appear on Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27.
