POLICE are appealing for help following a vicious serious assault in the city centre which left a man permanently disfigured.

Around 6.50pm on Friday, December 22 last year, a 26 year-old man was the victim of a serious assault within Alfredo’s bar, West Nile Street - leaving him with permanent scarring.

It is believed that the man responsible left the premises onto West Nile Street on foot in an unknown direction.

The man the police would like to speak to is described as a white male, in his late 30’s to late 40’s, 5'8'' to 5’10” in height, of medium build, and speaks with a local accent.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded, waist length waterproof type jacket with a red Superdry logo on the right shoulder area and red inner hood, light coloured polo shirt, light blue jeans and light coloured training shoes.

Detective Constable Colin Kilgour, Greater Glasgow CID, said: "This attack has left a man with permanent scarring. It is vital that we find the man responsible.

"Think back, were you in Alfredo's bar, or the area of West Nile Street on Friday, December 22?

"We would appeal for anyone who recognises the man in the image to come forward as we believe he may be able to help us in our enquiries." Anyone with information is asked to contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 3255 of Friday 22 December 2017.
