A WOMAN'S body has been found near to a Glasgow canal.
The discovery was made this afternoon around 1.30pm on Cleveden Road, next to the Forth and Clyde Canal.
Police have not released the name or age of the woman but said the death is being treated as unexplained.
A post mortem examination is being carried out and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 1.30pm on Tuesday, March 20, police were called to a report of a body of a woman being discovered on Cleveden Road, near to the canal.
"Formal identification is yet to take place and the death is being treated as unexplained at this time.
"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
