FRIENDS and family are planning to hold a minute silence for Paige Doherty on the day the teenager's body was found.
The teenager's body was discovered on March 21 two years ago in a wooded area just off Great Western Road - 48 hours after she first went missing.
Paige was just 15 when John Leathem, 34, stabbed her more than 60 times when she stopped at his business on March 19, 2016.
The married father-of-two was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow to life with a minimum term of 27 years that October after pleading guilty to her murder.
Friend Amy Crawford posted on social media: "Can you all take a small minute of silence? Even in your own heads, if your in work etc, to think of Paige at 11.30am - the time her body was found two years ago today but hadn't yet been identified."
One social media user replied: "Thinking of you all again on this tough day. I will do the minute silence. Sending hugs, Paige would be so so so proud of you Amy."
Another added: "Such a sad world wee live in, keep your beautiful wee chin up today."
The remembrance comes ahead of Paige's 18th birthday celebration.
The first annual Paige's Promise ball will take place on April 14 and is set to benefit the teen's charity, set up in the wake of her murder by her doting family in a bid to help others in a similar situation.
Years after promising the schoolgirl her favourite DJ George Bowie would play for 18th birthday, her mother Pamela Munro is making her daughter's dream come true.
Hit makers Zander Nation will perform a set while former DJ Suzie McGuire will be on hand to host the event.
Tickets to Glasgow Hilton event, which cost £70, are available via e-mail paiges promiseuk@yahoo.com.
