A MOTORCYCLIST is in a serious condition in hospital after a crash involving a JCB in Bishopton.

The 64-year-old was rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the crash which happened on the B815, Ferry Road at around 4.25pm on Tuesday, March 20.

The motorcyclist was travelling north on the road, when it was involved in a collision with a yellow JCB Telehandler at the junction with North Porton Road.

Medical staff describe the motorcyclist condition as serious and the driver of the JCB was uninjured.

The road was closed for around seven hours whilst the investigation team carried out enquiries.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney, from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was travelling on or near to the B815, Ferry Road, prior to the collision who observed either the JCB Telehandler or a Harley Davidson motorcycle to please get in touch.

“I would also ask any motorists with dashcams who may have captured footage of the incident to come forward and assist with our investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock via 101, quoting incident number 2604 of Tuesday 20 March 2018.”
