A Glasgow councillor has praised a straight-talking local who warned residents against letting their dog foul on public land.

Councillor Michael Cullen said that dog mess has been such a problem in his ward of Garscadden and Scotstounhill that he has been working with Community Safety Glasgow.

Plain clothed police officers have also been out in the area making sure dog owners pick up their pet's mess.

The actions clearly weren't enough for one resident who took it upon themselves to make a sign demanding a clean up.The sign, posted by Mr Cullen, reads: "Want to start yoga, start by bending over and picking up your dog s***.

"Known as the downward dog position.

"Then put in a bin."

The local councillor took to Twitter to congratulate those responsible for the hilarious message.
