A FORMER Boys’ Brigade Captain has been cleared of abusing two boys in his company.
Convicted paedophile Andrew Gilmour, 78, was accused of acting inappropriately towards them between 1991 and 1996 at the church hall in Glasgow and at his home.
The men, now 33 and 34, claimed they had been abused by Gilmour, from Glasgow, on a number of occasions when they attended the Boys Brigade club.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court, a jury returned majority not proven verdicts on both charges of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices.
In evidence the men claimed Gilmour would call them into his office, alone, where he would carry out his sex attacks.
They also claimed he touched them when he had them on their own at his house.
In January 2016, Gilmour was jailed for two years at the High Court in Glasgow for sexually abusing boys the Boys’ Brigade company between 1989 and 1995.
