A GLASGOW entrepreneur has been chosen as an ambassador for a UK-wide e-learning college Ideal Schools.
Michelle Smith has a background in IT and the energy sector and currently runs a virtual assistance (VA) company, ValueAdd Business Solutions.
The 48-year-old will provide assistance to Scottish students studying the course, which focuses mainly on bookkeeping and accounting.
She said: “I have been a firm believer in Ideal Schools’ teaching methods, reliability and approachability from the start.
“When I was looking to take on employees, it was my first port of call, and I leapt at the chance to represent the college as an ambassador.”
Ideal Schools has selected its four Ambassadors from the thousands of students it has taken through the process of studying to join the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB).
Al Vanden Akker, principal tutor at Ideal Schools, said: “We aim constantly to give our students the best learning experience available and in appointing four high-achieving Ideal Schools’ alumni such as Michelle as ambassadors we are giving our students role models with whom they can consult in course of their periods of study.”
Michelle is also a Women’s Enterprise Scotland ambassadors.
