Residents in Glasgow’s West End have been left baffled after dozens of bags of onions were dumped on waste land.
One local noticed the bags of vegetables hidden behind a wall on the Queen Margaret Drive end of Wilton Street on Monday night.
The onions were left untouched into Tuesday, with further inspection revealing that they have been delivered from Holland.

Hyndland resident, Tony Burton, said: “I was walking home last night and spotted the onions in all brand new bags.
“They’re lying on waste ground behind a wall close to a tenement so it must have taken some amount of effort and strength to put them there.
“It’s a shame because they all seem to be in date and in good condition. I’m just wondering, who would have put them there?

“Hopefully some generous person can come pick them up and deliver to a local foodbank.
“I’m used to seeing fly tipping in Glasgow but not usually of onions.”
