THE Coatbridge man convicted of teaching his girlfriend’s dog to perform Nazi salutes has blasted trolls who sent death threats to the sheriff.

Mark Meechan took to Twitter on Wednesday in a foul-mouthed rant after it was reported Derek O’Carroll suffered abuse after finding Meechan guilty of hate crime.

Taking to social media, Meechan hit out: “Sending death threats to the judge. Are you f****** serious? You really think this helps you complete f****** idiots?

“Don’t be so f****** stupid, think before you act like an utter moron. Stop it.”

He then added: “I’m actually seriously p***** off, what kind of mouth breather thought this was a good idea or funny. You honestly better hope the cops find you first.”

Mr O’Carroll was reportedly left “shocked and alarmed” by threats aimed at him since the conviction.

Meechan, 30, was found guilty of communicating a video which was “grossly offensive” at Airdrie Sheriff Court on March 20.

He taught his girlfriend’s pug to react to the words “gas the Jews” and filmed it for his YouTube channel last year.

The pug, named Buddha, was also seen raising a paw to fascist chant “Sieg Heil” during the footage called “M8 Yur Dug’s a Nazi.”

The stunt provoked outrage after being posted on YouTube where it has more than three million views.

Meechan was arrested by police for allegedly committing a hate crime by sharing the footage in April 2016.

But the North Lanarkshire man claimed the video was made to annoy girlfriend, Suzanne Kelly, 29, and denied any wrongdoing.

He faces sentencing next month but plans to appeal.
