A HIP-HOP show of epic proportions is coming to Glasgow this summer as The Sugarhill Gang will join forces with Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 rappers Melle Mel and Scorpio.
Arguably the founders of rap music as we know it, The Sugarhill Gang made history in 1979 with their debut 12” single Rappers Delight – the first commercial hip-hop track ever made and one that went on to inspire generations with its super sample usage and rapid-fire bars.
As well as this rap staple, The Sugarhill Gang are also responsible for other bangers such as Apache (Jump On It) and 8th Wonder and will deliver their hottest tracks with the help of legendary MCs, Melle Mel and Scorpio, who with Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5's back catalogue will tear through White Lines, The Message and many more.
The gig will take place at the Classic Grand on June 1. Go to skiddle.com for tickets.
