AN Easter egg hunt in Clarkston has been reportedly ruined by parents who exhibited abuse towards staff, dangerous driving and disregard for the rules.

The I Love Clarkston organisers were forced to send out a message on their Facebook page after it emmerged that some participants were taking more than their share and breaking the 'simple rules'.

The post said: "It saddens us, for the second year running, to have to put a post like this out.

"The Clarkston Easter Egg Hunt is FOR CHILDREN. We ask that if your child has found an egg, please leave the rest for others to have a chance.

"Unfortunately we have already had reports of some participants claiming multiple eggs; abuse towards staff and other participants, dangerous driving, irresponsible parking and not following the simple rules.

Glasgow Times:

"This is a family friendly event which we hold to ensure some good fun for the CHILDREN of the town, but some adults seem determined to ruin that."

The organisers threatened to cancel the hunt if the behaviour of certain players did not improve.

Outraged locals were quick to comment on the post with Alexandra Miller Manson writing: "Shocking adults, disgusting teaching your children how NOT to behave."

Another Elaine Atwood added: " Such a shame that folk can't behave themselves and spoil it for everyone. Maybe going forward have the eggs as a prize at the end and they need to collect so many hidden codes to get one, that way you can check that kids get 1 egg each. Just a suggestion."
