A SOUTH Lanarkshire nightclub has come under fire for advertising an “Easter Sunday circus” night with “giant ball pit” - but delivering a small children’s paddling pool.

Revellers were left disappointed at the sight at ROC Nightclub at the weekend.

Bosses had earlier posted an event on Facebook, advertising £1 drinks, a popcorn machine and “balloon drop giveaway.”

The event gathered hundreds of local reaction with excited residents tagging their pals in the post in the run up to the big day.

However, one clubber took a picture of the ballpit and, posting it on Twitter, wrote sarcastically: “Giant ball pit.”

She also posted a screenshot of the original event’s poster next to the image.

In just two days, the tweet gathered close to 65,000 reactions with followers rushing to ridicule the club.

“Widny fit half ae me in it,” wrote one, as another said, “This is obviously a nightclub for 12 year olds or something.

“Welcome to Hamilton,” was another comment, as was, “It was still good but defos not what was advertised.”

“Gutted a missed it,” said another sarcastically.

Other clubbers claimed the club’s £1 drinks offer failed to materialise.

“Hamilton for you!! Drinks weren’t even a quid they lied,” said one, as another woman chipped in, “Roc said £1 drinks n a giant ball pit yet the drinks r £3 n there’s a f***** age 5 paddling pool wae baws.”

ROC Nightclub bosses reportedly said it was left with the smaller pool on the night because no company would hire one out to a club.

A spokesperson said: “We contacted numerous outside events companies to hire a giant ball pit, but no-one would hire one to a nightclub. This was the next best alternative.

“Our customers seemed to have a great night in it on Sunday night,” reports The Scottish Sun.
