The team had just dropped a patient off at the Royal Alexandria Hospital and were heading back to their base in Greenock to prepare for the next callout when they were hit.

Following the attack, the windscreen was completely destroyed and the vehicle was off road for a number of days due to the Easter Holidays delaying repairs.

Luckily, the crew were not injured and no patients were onboard.

One member of staff described the attack as "sickening".
