A WOMAN sitting in her parked car at a bus stop in Hamilton was threatened by a “scruffy” man who opened her door in broad daylight.

At around 3pm on Thursday, the 34-year-old woman was sitting in the passenger seat of a grey-coloured Mazda 6 car on Quarry Street, near John Street.

A man opened the car door, threatened her and demanded money.

However, the suspect made off towards the corner of Brandon Street empty-handed after the woman shouted for help.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.
