POLICE are appealing for information to help trace a man who has been reported missing from the Gorbals.

Cristiano Rimicci was last seen on Friday, January 19 by a friend in Turriff Street whom he had been staying with.

He was not reported missing to police until Thursday, April 5 when his family in Italy got in touch with another friend to say they hadn’t heard from him by telephone since January.

Cristiano is originally from Italy but has lived in Scotland for 12 years.

The 45-year-old is described as 5ft 6 in height with black hair, a full beard, brown eyes and sallow skin.

Inspector James Mann at Cathcart Police Office said: “Cristiano often stays with different friends for several weeks at a time. However, his family in Italy say it is out of character for him to be out of contact with them for such a long period of time.

“I urge any who has seen him since 19 January or anyone who knows of his present whereabouts to contact police at Cathcart via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 1962 of 5 April 2018.

“I’d also like to appeal to Cristiano to either contact his family or Police Scotland to let us know that he is safe and well.”
