POLICE are on the hunt for a man who was last seen in the Gorbals more than two months ago.

Cristiano Rimicci is originally from Italy but has lived in Scotland for 12 years.

He was last seen on Friday, January 19, by a friend in Turiff Street, Gorbals whom he had been staying with.

However, he was not reported missing to police until April 5 when his family in Italy got in touch with another friend to say that they hadn’t heard from the 45-year-old via telephone since January.

He is described as 5ft 6 with black hair, a full beard, brown eyes and sallow skin.

Inspector James Mann at Cathcart Police Office said: “Cristiano often stays with different friends for several weeks at a time however his family in Italy say that it is out of character for him to be out of contact with them for such a long period of time.

“If anyone has seen anyone matching his description, or knows where he is would would urge you to come forward and contact us.

“I’d also like to appeal to Cristiano to either contact his family or Police Scotland to let us know that he is safe and well.”

Anyone with any information should contact Cathcart Police Office via 101 quoting incident number 1962 of April 5.
