THE LYONS SHARE

Dancing on Ice rolled into town for three nights and I was lucky enough to get a catch up with the stars.

They stayed at Glasgow’s plush Grand Central Hotel and didn’t get back from their numerous shows at the SSE Hydro till late at night.

The overall winner of the show Jake Quickenden, who also won I’m A Celeb, arrived back with Cheryl from Bucks Fizz after midnight on Saturday morning.

He was in great form and laughed off my suggestions that he might be signing to Coronation Street.

He was walking with a slight limp and rugby hunk Max Evans, who was thrilled to return to Glasgow, later explained it was because Jake injured himself during the Glasgow show and was unable to do the Bolero. Max managed to fill in for him instead.

Jake said later that he was sorry he disappointed his fans here.

One of the reasons he was looking the picture of health is that he’d nipped out for a quick tan with Fake Bake at 132 West Regent Street on his arrival.

Cheryl Baker said she has good memories of Glasgow and scouser Ray Quinn, who was drinking with Scottish pals in the hotel’s champagne bar, told me he would be returning here very soon.

He said: “I’m planning to return to Scotland when we tour Summer Holiday.”

Ray will be playing the role of Don, made famous by Sir Cliff Richard in the film of the same name.

FEAST FOR THE BEAST

She might be know for her elegance but Donna Air was tempted to pop into the late night Greggs outside Central station.

The famous pie and pastry place on Union Street is open till 4am at weekends.

Greggs has its headquarters in Newcastle and Donna who hails from Wallsend in Tyne was reminded of home when she saw it.

Donna, who used to go out with James Middleton, told me fondly: “I’ve not had one, but I do remember Greggs.”

THE COOL CATS

I popped along to Oran Mor to have a wee chat with boybanders New Hope Club on Tuesday.

The lads are managed by Richard Rashman who also manages The Vamps.

They recently recorded two songs for the soundtrack of Nick Park’s film Early Man. At the last minute they had to perform in Glasgow as a two piece with just Blake and George because their third band member Reece was taken to hospital with appendicitis. He’s now recovering after having his burst appendix taken out.

The lads put on a brilliant show and can’t wait to return here at the SSE Hydro in a fortnight to support the Vamps.

They’re keen to get some kilts for that occasion once all the kiltmakers and Scots designers have returned from New York Tartan week.

ROAR

I ended up hosting the Little Models Inc (LMI) Glasgow awards ceremony at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel on Sunday. It was full of lovely kids from the age of three who were strutting their stuff on the runway. The wee ones who did it were given lessons in confidence and teamwork so it was more than just a poseathon.

Entertainment came from none other than little Oscar Donnelly the six year old Irish dancer from Cumbernauld who has had millions of hits online.

He is really keen to go on the Ellen Show in America now - and it looks like it could happen.

Ellen was one of the producers on the US series of Little Big Shots that he appeared on so watch this space...

WHAT EVERYONE IS GOING WILD FOR...

It’s claimed that Kim Kardashian bought the rights to it and Meghan Markle is using it too - after Kate Middleton suggested she should. So I’m in good company now that I’ve been sent a bottle of Biotulin - ‘topical organic botox’. I put a tiny bit on my face between my eyes to see what it would do and my skin began to tingle and feel numb.

I’ll let you know in a few weeks time if I can move my eyebrows.

WILD THINGS

I got a special singing video message from perpetual reality show contestants Z and Saffire this week.

The eccentric Scots duo who have appeared on Coach Trip, Chopping Block and Judge Rinder have just made a music video with a famous name.

Simon Cowell once said they had more chance of winning the Grand National than Britain's Got Talent.

Eight years later the couple are still going strong.

THE WEEK’S PRIDE

I’m very proud of my old pal Justin Ryan this week.

As one half of Scots telly design duo Colin and Justin he’s always shown the slicker side of life.

This time round he decided to show off his latest happenings - warts and all.

Justin posted online about his facial cancer scare and told his followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter that he’d had thirteen moles removed from his face.

He also put up a pretty gruesome pic of his face after the operation.

I’m thrilled to hear his moles were not cancerous and that he is recovering well.

He and Colin live in Canada but still have a place in Park Circus and regularly pop back to see their family members and friends here.

ON THE PROWL

Whitney Houston may have ascended these plains but her doppelgänger is in town.

Tonight Belinda Davids takes to the stage of the Royal Concert Hall to belt out all the hits in The Greatest Love Of All Tour.

She’s meant to be very similar to the diva herself so I wonder if she’ll call me a brat when we meet - like Whitney once did when I offered to sing for her.

Despite her insult, I will still always love her.
