TRIBUTES have been paid to an 18-year-old who died in Holytown.

The 18-year-old has been named locally as Conner Cowper.

He was allegedly stabbed yesterday in a property on Spruce Way, prompting emergency services to rush to the scene around 10.26am.

He is also understood to go by the name Conner Smith.

Last night a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were arrested in connection with his death.

Pals have been quick to pay tribute to the teen.

One wrote: "Took to soon, thoughts are with your family at this sad time.

"Was only Sunday you were speaking to my mum, fly high my angel."

Another added: "Cruel, cruel world. Rest easy Cowper."

While another said: "Rest easy, cuz. Still can't wrap my head around that you're gone.

The teens are expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today.
