A TEENAGER was robbed at knifepoint inside a Chinese takeaway as his attacker claimed they knew each other.
The 19-year-old was on George Street, Paisley, near the Kwang Tung Chinese restaurant when a man pulled a knife on him and demanded cash.
The victim ran into the takeaway looking for safety but was followed by the suspect who claimed to customers that they knew each other.
The suspect then ran off while the victim stayed inside to contact police, following the incident on Saturday, April 14.
Detective Constable Grant Spy from Paisley CID: “We understand that prior to the robbery taking place, the victim ran across George Street towards the takeaway, narrowly avoiding a car.
"He also spoke to a man and a woman on George Street at the time of the incident.
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed a disturbance on George Street, or was in the takeaway immediately after the robbery, to please come forward."
The suspect is described as a white male with short dark hair, standing 6 ft tall and wearing a black tracksuit.
