RANGERS striker Kenny Miller has played his last game for the club following a dressing room bust-up with manager Graeme Murty.

And captain Lee Wallace is fighting for his Ibrox future after Gers chiefs moved to suspend him and Miller on Tuesday.

SportTimes understands Miller and Wallace were involved in an angry exchange with Murty in the immediate aftermath of the 4-0 Scottish Cup defeat to Celtic on Sunday.

Murty’s side crashed to an embarrassing Old Firm loss at Hampden and that result was a major blow to his chances of remaining at Ibrox next term.

Glasgow Times:

But Rangers are set to confirm later today that both players have been suspended pending an internal investigation.

The move to banish Miller and Wallace is no indication of whether Murty will remain in charge beyond the end of the season.

But Miller, who was an unused substitute at the weekend, won’t get the chance to pull on the Light Blue jersey again the Gers hierarchy take a hard-line approach to what they see as a culmination of events involving senior players at Ibrox.

Glasgow Times:

The 38-year-old is out of contract at the end of the campaign and the win over Dundee earlier this month will prove to be his final appearance for Rangers.

Wallace still has another 12 months left on his Ibrox deal and only time will tell if he will get a chance to play for the Gers again.

The left-back was injured during the draw with Partick Thistle in September and has yet to return to action despite taking part in training with Murty’s squad in recent weeks.

An Ibrox source told SportTimes: “Questions have been asked about Wallace’s fitness and sometimes it appears as though he is fit and then he is not.

“This is a culmination of what the powers at be believe has been disruptive behaviour in the squad.

“Nobody’s personal agenda will override the needs of the club and nobody is bigger than Rangers.”
