However, the 48-year-old was stunned to be knocked back from the gay bar. The actress was celebrating with fellow actor Darren Brownlie on Saturday night after their performance in Bingo! The Musical at the city’s Tron Theatre.

But despite the star claiming she was sober and Darren's pleas to the bouncer, she was refused entry.

Using the nightclub’s own hashtag #pololovesyou, she wrote: “Polo, you didn’t love me.

“Went all dressed up after the show last night, stone cold sober and got a bloody knock back. Whit a riddie.

“Haven’t been to the dancin for 20 years. @Darrenbrownlie had to beg to get me in.

“I’m going to stick to The Clansman in future.”

Brownlie responded to the tweet, saying: “Aw Jane. I know how excited you were about going. I just hope you still had a great night.”

To which she replied: “With you, who couldn’t.”

Fellow actor Colin McCredie, who made a one-off appearance in the latest series of Still Game, added: “Dear oh dear.”

But it wasn't the end of trouble for the star, who revealed her weekend went from bad to worse.

She added: “If this weekend wasn’t humiliating enough getting a KB fae the dancin, the wee yin’s football team getting humped again this morning (says he had a sore foot) and the final insult – slipped coming out my neighbour’s back door and landed on one of her many collections of poo.”
