A MAN has been stabbed after a street fight broke out as he and his friends made their way to a pro-cannabis event at Glasgow Green.

Detectives are appealing for information following the serious assault which took place yesterday afternoon.

Around 4.15pm a 21-year-old man was walking on Turnbull Street near to Steel Street with four male friends.

The group were approached by three Asian men and an altercation took place which resulted in the victim being stabbed.

The victim was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and later released.

Detective Constable Sean McLoughlin from Shettleston CID said: “The victim and his friends had been making their way to a demo at Glasgow Green and the area would have been busy with other people attending the event at the time of the attack.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anything at all suspicious to please get in touch.
