THIS dramatic drone footage shows youngsters risking their lives playing in massive waves at a spot where a woman was washed out to sea the day before.

The youngsters can be seen running up to the sea wall before dashing back just before the giant wave hits.

They are then drenched by the massive waves that tower over them and then run back for more.

Although the lucky youngsters escaped with their lives, just a day earlier a woman was washed out to sea at the exact same spot at Westward Ho!, Devon, when she was engulfed by a wave.

The woman was rescued by a passing naval officer.

The footage was captured by drone operator Alex Hall, who shared the footage on a Facebook community group.

He wrote: “Sorry to share this but I feel some education is in order, especially as someone was swept off the slipway last night.

“The first clip shows a coffee sign or cone effortlessly being swept off the slipway. The second shows a group of kids taking some serious risks.”

Bideford Coastguard has warned people to stay away from the seafront during particularly high tides.

They posted on Facebook and said: “We ask everyone to keep well clear of any slip ways and areas where the waves are breaking over the sea walls.

“If you see anyone in difficulty on the coast dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
