A DRUNK ended up in the back of a police van for threatening to bite an officer’s nose off.

Stephen Glen, 29, had come to the attention of members of the public after shouting sectarian remarks outside All Bar One on St Vincent Street.

His comments included “up to our knees in fenian blood”, “f*** the pope” and “up the UVF”.

When accosted by the police, he threatened: “I’m going to bite your f****** nose off.”

The incident happened on September 14, 2017.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Glen’s lawyer explained that he had taken a break-up badly and was not coping well at the time of his outburst.

The accused, who had been working earlier and was out drinking on his own, was about to get on a bus home when he made the “disgraceful” remarks.

Glen was said to be “disgusted with himself”.

Sheriff Tony Kelly sentenced Glen, of Tillycairn Road, to a Community Payback Order with supervision for a year and 150 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.
