TWO of Glasgow’s top luxury hotels have been recognised at the 2018 Scottish Hotel Awards.

The iconic four-star Principal Grand Central Hotel was awarded two People of Excellence awards with Wendy Johnston scooping Event Individual of the Year and Lynne Doyle taking home Housekeeper of the Year.

Lauren Mcavoy from the stunning Principal Blythswood Square Hotel won Pastry Chef of the Year, while reception supervisor, Courtney Early won Rising Star.

Blythswood Square was also awarded a highly commended for City Hotel and Business Hotel of the Year.

Located in the centre of the city, adjacent to Glasgow Central train station, the Grand Central Hotel offers 230 luxury bedroom and 21 flexible event rooms all boasting state-of-the-art technology and with room for up to 400 guests or delegates.

Previous guests at the Grand Central include icons such as JFK, Winston Churchill and Frank Sinatra as guests.

Blythswood Square – one of the city’s most exclusive five-star spa hotels – is currently going through a multi-million pound refurbishment that will refresh all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant, new look as well as adding 12 new bedrooms and creating a new two-bedroom penthouse suite.

The elegant salon offers beautiful garden views along with delicious food, fizz, cocktails and one of the city’s best afternoon teas.
