A MAN told his partner he was going to see someone before vanishing.

Police have launched a major search for Paul McAlonan, 45, who is missing from his hometown of Wishaw.

He was last seen leaving his home in Stewarton Street at around 11.45am on Monday.

He told his partner he was going to see someone and left in his blue Honda Civic, registration RY02 GOH.

He has not returned home or made contact with friends or family since.

Paul is described as 5ft 8 inches, of medium build, with grey short hair, stubble and a fair complexion. He has tattoos on both arms, the right says ‘Robert’ and the left says ‘Kelsey'. He also has a red birth mark on the centre of his scalp at the back.

When Paul was last seen, he was wearing a white zipper top with a blue and red stripe across the chest with the word ‘Mackenzie’ on the chest. He was also wearing dark blue jeans and white Adidas Samba trainers.

Sergeant Adam Docherty, from Motherwell Police Station, said: “Paul’s friends and family are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing and we are appealing for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.

“I would also appeal to Paul directly to please get in touch with someone to let us know that he is ok.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Motherwell Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 1531 of Monday 23 April 2018.”
