AN ongoing police incident has seen a major road in the north of Glasgow be closed off.
Atlas Road, in Springburn, was shut off from Springburn Road to Springburn Way just after midnight.
The incident is still ongoing and the road will remain closed until further notice.
Drivers were being asked to follow police direction, but are now being told to use an alternate route.
Images posted on social media suggested the cause of the closure may have been due to a major accident.

One reader told the Evening Times the route was closed from Springburn Road to Flemington Street.

Another said access to the local college campus is also shut off.
Alan Sherry, principal of Glasgow Kelvin College, issued a short statement to staff and students.
Despite disruption around Springburn campus this morning, the College is open as usual.

He said: “Major incident in Atlas Road means no car access to Springburn Campus. Please use public transport or make alternative arrangements for parking.”
