A FAILURE of the electricity supply at Glasgow Central is set to cause massive disruption to trains until the end of the day.
Services at Glasgow Central will be either cancelled, delayed or revised.
The routes affected are between Glasgow Central and Neilston / Newton / Cathcart Inner Circle / Cathcart Outer Circle / Ayr / Ardrossan Harbour / Largs / Paisley Canal / Gourock / Wemyss Bay.
Paisley Canal services - along with Ardrossan Harbour, Wemyss Bay and Larkhall - have all been suspended.

Services running are:
- Glasgow Central to Ayr start and terminate back from Paisley Gilmour Street
- Two-hourly Gourock services will start and terminate back from Paisley Gilmour Street
- Largs services will start and terminate back from Kilwinning
- Stations between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour street will not be served
Ticket acceptance is in place with First Buses for the following:
- Between Glasgow and Newton on the following bus services; 3, 4/A, 5, 6, 7/A, 18, 21, 31, 34/A, 38, 57/A, 75, 90. Calling at Glasgow, Pollokshields West, Maxwell Park, Pollokshaws West, Shawlands, Pollokshaws East, Langside, Kings Park, Croftfoot, Burnside, Kirkhill, Newton
- Between Glasgow and Patterton on the following bus services 3, 4/A, 5, 6, 7/A, 18, 21, 31, 34/A, 38, 57/A, 75, 90. Calling at Glasgow, Pollokshields East, Queens Park, Crosshill, Mount Florida, Cathcart, Muirend, Williamwood, Whitecraigs, Patterton
- Between Glasgow and Paisley Canal on the following bus services 3, 9/A, 10, X8. Calling at Glasgow, Dumbreck, Corkerhill, Mosspark, Crookston, Hawkhead, Paisley Canal
- Between Glasgow and Paisley Gilmour Street on the following bus services 3, 9/A, 10. Calling at Glasgow, Cardonald, Hillington East, Hillington West, Paisley Gilmour Street
- Between Glasgow and East Kilbride / Nitshill on the following bus services; 3, 4/A, 6, 18, 21, 31, 38, 57/A, 201. Calling at Glasgow, Crossmyloof, Pollokshaws West, Thornliebank, Giffnock, Clarkston, Busby, Hairmyres, East Kilbride, Kennishead, Priesthill & Darnley and Nitshill
- ScotRail also has ticket acceptance arranged with McGills Buses between Port Glasgow and Gourock / Wemyss Bay, and also between Glasgow and Neilston via Barrhead on bus numbers 3 and 103
The following stations are not served: Woodhall, Whinhill, Drumfrochar, Langbank, Bishopton, Paisley St James, Paisley Gilmour Street, Hillington West, Hillington East and Cardonald.
UPDATE: #GlasgowCentral disruption is expected until the end of the day. Please consider alternative modes of transport if you are travelling to Glasgow Central.

Ticket acceptance is in place with Whitelaws Buses as follows:
- Hamilton - bus numbers 250, 253, 254, 255, 256
- Chatelherault - bus numbers 250, 253, 254, 255
- Merryton - bus numbers 250, 253, 254, 255
- Larkhall - bus numbers 250, 253, 254, 255
- Motherwell - bus number 253

ScotRail told its customers on Twitter: “Due to severe damage to the overhead wires in the Glasgow Central. area, all services to and from the High Level will be disrupted. Please checkjourneycheck.com/scotrail before you travel.”
