MORE than 80 homeless people have been given a health check thanks to new project aimed at the city’s rough sleeping population.
The scheme, run by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the Simon Community, has been given £51,000 to reach more people who are less likely to access preventative healthcare.

Pharmacists for Homeless, is supported by Healthcare Improvement Scotland, and was launched in August last year.
Richard Lowrie, Pharmacists for Homeless project spokesman said: “People experiencing homelessness, who are rough sleeping, are not only destitute, they also suffer from unprecedented levels of combinations of physical ill health, mental ill health and addiction problem

“Patients are now engaging in health services as a result of our intervention.”
