MORNING rail commuters are in for rush-hour misery between Glasgow Central and Motherwell.

A failure of the electricity supply between Cambuslang and Rutherglen is causing disruption to journeys between both - and it’s expected to last until at least 10am.

Services between these stations look likely to be either cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 20 minutes.

Currently, no services are able to run between Rutherglen and Larkhall.

Customers may use First Buses between Glasgow and Motherwell/Cumbernauld, also Whitelaw’s Buses between Larkhall and Motherwell via Hamilton.

Passengers affected can check their journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner here.
