A transit van caught fire on the M8 causing smoke to billow across the motorway next to Glasgow Fort shopping centre.
Fire crews were called to the scene at around 11.30am to try and tackle the blaze on the busy eastbound carriageway.
The van was moved on to the hard shoulder but drivers were still warned to be careful when passing the incident.

Van fire on the #M8 E/B at J10 - adjacent to the onslip
The van is in the hard shoulder, however smoke is blowing on to the carriageway so traffic is slowing on approach- be careful when passing.

Glasgow friends, avoid the M8 west bound as there's a van that's caught fire just by the junction leaving the Glasgow Fort. It's the level of bad that when we saw it, instant reaction was to phone the emergency services
