HUNDREDS have flocked to George Square to take part in the One Big Picnic event.
The free event, open to all, saw families and young people descend on George Square to enjoy a free meal “and a wee blether.”
Food was on offer from 12 stalls run by people from diverse backgrounds working together.
Many of the groups involved run soup kitchens and community cafes.
With music and fun for all the family, the Village Storytelling Centre brought their yurt and stories for children of all ages.
The event aims to bring people together by creating a space for sharing food and chatting, showing understanding to differences regardless of background, cultural, religious, sexual orientation, social or educational status, homelessness or wealth.
Organisers said: “We wanted to highlight the fact that Glasgow is indeed a city of caring people.
“People make Glasgow.”
