A MASS will be held in Glasgow's East End to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Celtic legend Tommy Burns.

The former player and manager died of skin cancer aged 51 at his home on May 15, 2008.

A mass will take place at St Mary's Church in the Calton on Tuesday at 7pm.

The church on Abercromby Street is where the funeral mass to celebrate Tommy's life originally took place.

Burns was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2006, and it appeared he had beaten the disease, until it returned months before he died.

On Saturday, Celtic Graves Society marked the 10th anniversary of his death at his graveside at Linn Cemetery in Castlemilk.

Hundreds of Celtic supporters gathered at the event which was also attended by Tommy's wife Rosemary and children Emma, Jenna and Michael.

Speakers included the club's chief executive Peter Lawwell, manager Brendon Rodgers and former Hoops boss Gordon Strachan.

The mass will take place at 7pm.
