A MAN is in hospital after a car crashed into a shop in Renfrew.
The 16 plate Volkswagen Golf smashed into the Ferry Nice Food shop on Ferry Road at around 6.40pm on Monday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and a teenage passenger was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be a serious.
The driver of the car, 29, was taken to the Royal Alezandra Hospital where he was released after treatment.
The shop was left with extensive damage following the crash.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At around 6.40pm on Monday, a Volkswagen Golf car being driven by a 29-year-old man crashed into a shop in Ferry Road, Renfrew.
"The driver was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and released following treatment.
"A 19-year-old man, who was the rear seat passenger in the car, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
"There was no other vehicles involved."
