BRENDAN Rodgers is hopeful that Leigh Griffiths will be back to his best for Celtic next term after a clean-up operation during the summer.
Griffiths has spent long spells on the sidelines with injuries during the 2017/18 campaign and has failed to scale the heights of previous seasons.
But the 27-year-old will miss the Scotland summer tour of Peru and Mexico because he is to undergo surgery and Rodgers is optimistic he will be transformed by the procedure.

“It’s been unfortunate for him this year with injury, illness and bits and pieces,” he said. “It’s probably been frustrating, but hopefully that will get tidied up and he’ll be back, fit and raring to go for pre-season.”
Meanwhile, Rodgers confirmed that Craig Gordon will be available for the William Hill Scottish Cup final against Motherwell at Hampden on Saturday.
