A DEVASTATED Motherwell fan has made a heartfelt plea for a minute's applause at Saturday's Scottish Cup final in honour of his pal - who has been given just days to live after a shock tumour discovery.

Fraser Irving took to Facebook today to ask for fans' support after his pal Paul McAllister was given the heartbreaking diagnosis.

The tumour was discovered following an operation and although the Celtic supporter won't be well enough to make the match, he'll be watching from home.

Fraser said: "Our good friend Paul Mccallister from Motherwell has been given some devastating news following an operation and the discovery of a tumour that he has a matter of days left to live.

"He will be 30 on his next birthday. Paul has battled a debilitating illness, (crohns) for most of his life and being a fighter will not give in.

"Unfortunately Paul is not fit to attend the match on Saturday but will be watching the match at home.

"Can we all show Paul and his family a sign of support with a minutes applause on the seventh minute and pray he pulls through!

"Please share and let them know we are thinking about them."

The match kicks off at 3pm at Hampden.
