A ROYSTON woman called her boss a "little Italian p****".

Deborah Gray, 32, lost her cool in the middle of a chippie when Mario Crolla refused to speak to her.

Glasgow Sheriff Court was told by the fiscal depute that the accused had went into the fish and chip shop to speak to the complainer about her employment having been terminated.

However, Gray's lawyer claimed she went to discuss her shifts.

Angry at Mr Crolla's silence, she branded him a "w******" and "a little Italian p****".

Gray pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing within Mario's Glasgow in Redcastle Square on February 6 this year. She also admitted uttering an offensive racial remark.

In defence it was explained that the pair had exchanged messages earlier that day and the complainer had asked Gray to go to the chip shop, but when she arrived he would not speak to her. Frustrated, she mouthed off.

Her lawyer stated: "She was angry, she was upset."

The accused, who suffers from mental health difficulties, was said to be emotional as she was in an abusive relationship and going through a difficult period at the time.

Sheriff Mary McCory sentenced Gray, of Charles Street, to a Community Payback Order with 100 hours of unpaid work to be completed within three months.
