Police are investigating reports of a shooting in Govan, just hours after an attempted murder in Scotstoun.

Emergency services raced to scene after residents on Torbreck Street, in the Craigton area, heard what they believed were gunshots around 12.55pm on Monday.

A damaged car was found by officers on Bunessan Street shortly after and is now undergoing forensic examinations.

Jura Street, Ulva Street and Torbreck Street were locked down for several hours following incident.

Investigations are ongoing to confirm whether or not a firearm was involved but police say they have received no reports of anyone being injured as a result of any incidents around the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Govan CID on 101.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, forensic officers could be seen examining cars and one vehicle at the scene had its entire window smashed.

Evidence including number plates was also carefully placed in bags for examination.

The incident comes less than 24 after a man was shot at while in a parked car in Scotstoun.

A 27-year-old man was uninjured following the incident was led to him crashing his car a short distance from Kingsway Court.

Inquiries are underway to trace the gunmen.
