A KNIGHTSWOOD mum is raging at her son for outrunning the cops on three occasions.

Ross Fisher, 26, was disqualified from driving when the police spotted him behind the wheel – but he put pedal to the metal and they were unable to keep up and catch him on his getaway.

It was around 7.10pm on June 2, 2016 when officers on mobile patrol saw the accused driving along Kelso Street and Alderman Road.

Fisher was already known to the police due to their previous dealings with him, so they were aware he was banned at the time.

During their pursuit, the accused sped off and disappeared from sight. Police conducted an area search, but Fisher was never caught.

A report was thereafter sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

On June 26, 2016, Fisher was spotted driving a Mercedes along Cowdenhill Road and Baldwin Avenue. Once more the police went off in pursuit, but they failed to get their man.

At around 2.30am on August 26, 2016, the accused pulled up in an orange Toyota next to a police car in Fulton Street. He ignored their instructions to stop and instead left them behind in his rear-view mirror. For the third time, a report was sent to the fiscal.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Fisher pleaded guilty to driving along various roads within the city whilst disqualified on June 2, June 26 and August 26, 2016. He also admitted driving without insurance on June 26 and August 26, 2016.

In defence, Fisher's Criminal Justice Social Work report was described as positive. Sheriff Diana McConnell noted that he had presented and engaged well with the social work team.

The accused's lawyer stated that Fisher accepted full responsibility of his actions and relayed that his mum was not happy, warning him: "This sort of behaviour cannot continue."

Sheriff McConnell banned Fisher from driving for 34 months. The accused, of Archerhill Terrace, was also placed on a Community Payback Order with 125 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months. In addition, he was admonished for driving without insurance but had his licence endorsed.
