POLICE are continuing the search for a missing Ayrshire girl who vanished after boarding a train to Glasgow.

Olivia Bryson was last seen boarding a train at Glengarnock Train Station around 9.15am on May 22 alongside 12-year-old Leon Williamson.

Enquiries determined the duo then travelled to Manchester, where Olivia has family.

Leon has since been traced safe and well but police are still on the hunt for 14-year-old Olivia.

A potential sighting of Olivia, who lives in residential accommodation in Ayrshire, in the English city is currently being investigated.

Olivia is around 5ft. 2 inches in height, with a medium build, blue eyes, freckles and brown hair normally worn in ponytail.

She was wearing dark coloured jogging trousers, a North Face jacket, which is grey coloured at the top and dark coloured at the bottom.

The teen tends to wear a black baseball cap on her head with her jacket hood up. She has an English accent.

Officers are liaising closely with other officers from British Transport Police and Greater Manchester Police.

Sergeant Allen Dodds said: “We are pleased to confirm that Leon has been traced safe and well.

"However, we remain focused on trying to find Olivia.

"We are checking a possible sighting of her in the Manchester area, however if anyone has seen Olivia or has any information of knowledge as to her whereabouts, please contact police.

"We need to know she is safe and well."

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Irvine Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 0795.
