GLASGOW'S Wetherspoon pubs will open their doors to gin enthusiasts as part of the highly anticipated Scottish Gin Festival.

During a 10-day festival from June 8 to June 17, fans will be able to get their hands on 18 types of gin.

The Scottish Gin Festival, which also coincides with World Gin Day on June 9, will feature 10 additional gins produced across Scotland, added to the eight Scottish gins already served at the pubs.

The 10 festival gins featured are; Arbikie Kirsty’s Gin, Daffy’s Gin, Eden Mill Hop Gin, Eden Mill Love Gin, Edinburgh Gin Plum & Vanilla Liqueur, Edinburgh Gin Seaside, Makar Glasgow Gin, McQueen Signature Dry Gin, Pickering’s Gin and Rock Rose Gin.

These join the eight Scottish gins already on the menu, all day every day, which are; Caorunn, Edinburgh Gin Raspberry Liqueur, Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur, Gordon’s, Gordon’s Pink Gin, Hendrick’s Gin, Tanqueray and Tanqueray No. Ten.

Gin fans can head along to the following pubs to get in on the action: The Counting House in St. Vincent's Place, The Crystal Palace in Jamaica Street, The Hengler’s Circus in Sauchiehall Street, The Sir John Moore in Argyle Street, Sir John Stirling Maxwell in Kilmarnock Road, The Society Room in West George Street and The Esquire House in Great Western Road, Anniesland, as well as The Sandpiper and The Sanderling, both at Glasgow Airport.

The Counting House pub manager, Mick Murphy, said: “Gin is a popular drink with many of our customers and this festival will give them the chance to enjoy more gins produced right here in Scotland.

“The event gives us the opportunity to support local producers and showcase a wider variety of great gins made in our region.”

Tasting notes on all of the gins will be available at the pubs.
