A MAN who claimed his cat got his letter from social workers has been tagged for the next six months.
Ryan O’Neill, of The Crescent, Dalmuir, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week having previously admitted and been punished for a breach of the peace and assault of a police officer on December 18, 2016 in Wellington Place, Clydebank.
Defence solicitor Phil Lafferty said the report on 31-year-old O’Neill’s progress was a “mixed bag”.
But Sheriff John Hamilton asked: “What’s mixed about it? He is not a boy. He knows the rules. He is just not engaging.
“In October, one of the reasons he didn’t respond was, ‘The cat had got his letter’.”
Turning to a grinning O’Neill, Sheriff Hamilton told him: “I have absolutely no faith in your ability to cooperate.”
He revoked the community payback order O’Neill was already on and imposed a new curfew of 7pm to 7am every day for six months.
