English folk rocker Passenger brought the usually bustling Buchanan Street to a halt as he performed an impromptu, free gig this lunchtime.

The singer - real name Michael Rosenberg - delighted hundreds of shoppers by singing some of his biggest hits - including Let Her Go - in the City Centre.

The 34-year-old took to the top of the street, outside the Royal Concert Hall stairs, as fans of all ages stopped in their tracks and gathered around to enjoy his music in the warm weather.

The singer has previously performed last-minute sets in Glasgow and he’s set to hit Manchester tomorrow and Brighton on Sunday.

He teased fans earlier in the week by keeping the exact time and location under lock and eye - until today.

Taking to Twitter, Mike shared a picture from a previous gig he performed at the same spot.
