THERE were plenty of smiles as nearly 200 pupils took part in this year's Glasgow Schools Triathlon.
In what was the second year of the event, youngsters took over Bellahouston Leisure Centre and park for a run, swim and cycle challenge.
Secondary schools started the challenge in the morning - waved off by European Championships mascot Bonnie the Seal.
S2 and S3 pupils from 14 schools completed the challenge, around 120 youngsters.
For older pupils, all three sports were tackled with a 150 metre swim, a 4km cycle and a 1.5km run.
In the afternoon, 66 P6 and P7 youngsters from 13 primary schools also completed the event relay style over shorter distances of 25m, 2km and 1km.
