A GOVANHILL street has finally reopened one month after closing for works that should have taken seven days to complete.
A sewer collapse on Allison Street forced the closure of a section of the road while Scottish Water engineers worked on the repair.
Bosses said the road would be fully open to traffic after seven days.
But the repair date was extended and now Allison Street has just reopened.
Problems with the road were first discovered on April 30 and it was shut at its junction with Pollokshaws Road to Niddrie Street.
Initially the repairs were expected to take "up to" sevcn days.
This was then extended due to "engineering difficulties."
A notice from Glasgow City Council's road traffic department said: "The works described have been completed and Allison Street is fully open to traffic."
