EMERGENCY services and gas workers were in Drumchapel after reports of an explosion.

Fire crews are at the scene of a fire at a property on Kinfauns Drive.

Residents have been evacuated from their homes and are waiting for more information from fire bosses.

No one has been injured it in the incident, it was confirmed.

The blaze is believed to have started around 6.20pm and four appliances are at the scene.

Fire crews have come from Knightswood, Milngavie, Clydebank and Yorkhill to the scene.

Engineers from gas company SGN were also present, the company confirmed.

A spokesman said: "We were called to Kinfauns Drive in Glasgow at around 6.45pm to support the emergency services in their response to a fire.

"We attended in our capacity as the national gas emergency service and our engineers made safe and have now left site."
