THE leader of Glasgow City Council has officially launched one of the city’s largest private housing developments.

Susan Aitken visited Riverford Gardens in the Southside’s Pollokshaws area where one of Scotland’s leading construction and manufacturing companies is offering a range of exclusive properties.

Glasgow-based CCG (Scotland) Ltd’s Riverford Gardens development is located in a highly-desirable, riverside location on Riverford Road.

Delivered by CCG Homes, it will consist of 52 three and four-bedroom houses and 104 one and two-bedroom flats.

Future homeowners are set to benefit from the natural surroundings of the river, private green space as well as excellent access to local amenities and transport links.

Ms Aitken, who is also City Convener for Inclusive Economic Growth, described how the development will play a part in “the continued regeneration of Pollokshaws.”

She added: “When this development is completed, it will add to the range of houses and flats which are being built across the city.

“Future homeowners in this site can be sure of high quality homes in a part of the city with excellent amenities, transport links and access to green space.”

CCG director Calum Murray said of the “landmark” project: “Our step back into the private housing market is due to our belief that the marketplace is in short supply of quality private housing that is attainable, particularly for first time buyers. We believe that Riverford Gardens, with the diversity of house types and an outstanding location, will be appealing to a range of buyers.

“The development will be undertaken entirely by the CCG Group from the delivery of energy efficient timber systems and construction through to the manufacture and fit out of all internals and services. By using our own products and expertise, we will be able to provide buyers with enhanced environmental and energy performance with an assurance of quality.”

CCG Homes aim to have the first properties ready before the end of 2018.
